Constipation

Constipation is decreased intestinal motility. This can be caused by a variety of things

such as excessive laxative use. In children, they are fearful of pain which makes them

fearful of having a bowel movement due to the pain they will be in when they’re having

a bowel movement. Some underlying causes of constipation is rectal prolapse or

rectocele. Other causes of constipation include irregular eating patterns, high intake of

caffeine and alcohol, and intestinal blockage are few of the causes. Some symptoms

include hard stool that is difficult to pass, pain with bowel movements, lower back pain,

bloating, and rectal bleeding with bowel movements.
